Triple Threat

June 15, 2009/Health

Tonight was our last basketball game for the spring season. Uh-em…. in an effort not to sound redundant I will not cue “We are the Champions”. Instead, I will cue…. um…. ok, I can’t think of another appropriate song so cue “We are the Champions” please!

Triple Threat went 7-1 this season and I must say I am rather proud of us. After our first (and only) loss, my sister’s coworker bet her we wouldn’t last the season without another loss. The bet was for lunch. She would ride this over us every game saying things like “please don’t make me buy lunch” or “let’s win because I really don’t want to have to buy lunch”. I am pleased to say, her 70 year oldish coworker will be buying her lunch, hopefully this week. She deserves it.
And, I’m also pleased to say I plan on playing again this summer when the league starts back up. The tournament was canceled to accommodate a buy week on Mother’s Day so our record is a bit anticlimactic. However, there is supposed to be a tournament…. I’m looking forward to bringing home a trophy for Natalie’s dresser.
Speaking of trophies for Natalie’s dresser, Henry’s team lost in the championship by four points. He was unable to play because of his appendectomy. The good news for Natalie is that they gave our trophies to the second place team because all season Natalie would say to Henry, “Daddy, you are winning a lot of games. Keep winning so I can get a trophy.”
So, cheers to Triple Threat. Oh, and Christine, enjoy your two slices of pizza with a coke.
