Dropping like flies….

November 17, 2010/friends

I didn’t even know Natalie’s other front tooth was loose until she came out of her room last night squealing with delight. “Another one came out, another one came out!”

Seriously, the tooth fairy is going to go broke.

And on another note, I was able to spend some time Tuesday morning with Julie. She and I met through our blogs and connected right away. She and her husband are missionaries in Hungary. This is only the second time we’ve had a chance to sit and chat, but it felt so natural. I loved being able to see her in person and hug her. Can’t wait til she’s back in the spring.

Update: I’m on the treadmill this morning and Natalie comes to find me. “The tooth fairy didn’t come and take my tooth last night.” she says. I gasp. “Oh shoot! No, she didn’t. She completely forgot.” Natalie said, “I looked all over my room for my present, but she didn’t bring one.” I agreed, “No, no she didn’t. Maybe she’ll come tonight.” Natalie continued, “Maybe she went to Alec’s house instead. Or she was on a trip and didn’t get home in time. What do you think happened, mom?” “I think she forgot to put it on her list.” I said. Ugh!

That is hilarious about the Tooth Fairy! It happened in our house recently. My son lost his tooth & he woke up at 5am! My hubby told him he must have scared the TF away cuz he got up so early! Hee hee! Then son says, “It’s ok. I’m not worried! It has happened before! I’m sure she’ll come tonight!” LOL!!!!

I do have to SNICKER big time. Josiah lost a tooth last month. I have always told my kids the tooth fairy can’t come into a dirty room because she may trip on the toys and wake them up. Josiah went to bed after being told to pick up earlier. He was so sad and mad at himself that morning, because the TF didnt come in his room because it wasnt clean and left him a note why she didnt come in. He was so upset he cleaned his room before he went to school.

We have also had the tooth fairy (and leprechaun for St. Paddy’s) forget and our solution was that because there are so many people in the world that they have that night and the next to accomplish whatever it is that was supposed to happen. It worked with the tooth fairy because many of the kids in Chloe’s class lost a couple around the same time. Be ready for the next two she’ll lose – they may happen sooner than you think too.
