Pittsburgh Pity Party

May 26, 2011/The Move

I’m tired.

The commuting to Pittsburgh to look at houses is taking its toll and eating up our last weeks here in Virginia. I feel like I’m running out of time to see my friends and say good-bye.
We missed the deadline to find a house to move straight into when it’s time to vacate this one.
The market there is so hot the houses that are appealing to us are gone in a day. With me here during the week its making it hard to even have a chance.
Henry’s apartment is soooo not functional for family living. It’s a one-bedroom-with-den-loft-style apartment. There isn’t a door on the bedroom. Let’s go over that again…. there’s no bedroom door! The master (and only) bed is full-size. Have you seen my giant? Do you know my kids end up in our bed every night? *gasp. Henry and I wake up in the wee hours to find ourselves smothered in child-bodies and with some of our limbs tingling from cut-off circulation. Last weekend I slept the remaining few hours of Sunday morning on the couch. Not fun.
This means our stuff will sit in storage. I’ll have to figure out what we need and what we don’t need. Ugh! I think I should donate the crafts and puzzles that sat in storage last summer and never made it out of boxes.
I’m trying to think of something positive to say. Hmmm…

It’s all just stuff. Scroll down about 6 inches to your last post and look at that huge grin.

    This too will pass sweetie.

God will walk with you through the process. Lean on Him.

You have faced life and death situations…and in that light, this is a piece a cake.

Yet I know it seems overwhelming.

I am praying for you. Hoping you will find your new house soon.

    Love, Linda

A friend of mine just went through a similar situation and in time it worked out but I think it’s really positive that you were able to write your thoughts and we all need a little pity party now and then. Praying for you that things will work out. Pray for patience and say you want it NOW! 🙂

Yea, I agree…with all you have gone through this will be a piece of cake!! I’m not sure if your loft bedroom would be large enough but what about cots for the girls to sleep on (pushed up next to the bed). If that would work at least you will have a little more room in the bed.

This is the stuff that drives you crazy. This is the stuff thats given to you lately. In the middle of your little mess, you can see how big you’re blessed.

    You sold your house!
    Henry has a job!
    Storage is a possibility!
This will all be over at some point, and in the meantime, you will survive.

As my neighbor says, these are suburban problems of the blessed. Can you imagine when Ryan was born that these would be your annoyances?
