I don’t have any of the school children this morning. For the first time in awhile, Ryan is actually at school. Between spring break, teacher days, a rummage sale and goodness knows what else, he only had preschool about three days in April. I’m not even sure why I bothered sending him those three days!
Anywho, I only have Piper this morning who laid down for her morning nap about the time I was putting the pot roast in the slow cooker. I looked around and wondered what to do with the quiet. Wondered as in…. what in the heck should I tackle first, not what in the heck will I do with myself.
So I took a shower. A nice hot one. Because I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t rushing through a shower with a little one peeping in asking if I’m done yet. Or opening the shower door while I’m drying off to be “helpful.” I stood under the relaxing warm water forgetting about ALL the things I could be getting done and decorated my bedroom and guest room in my mind. Ahhhh, the bliss. As I was drying off I realized I might not have washed my hair. I was so distracted by the calm. Could it be? For the life of me, I couldn’t remember! I ended up turning the water back on and washing and conditioning my hair. Then dried off again with a slightly damp towel this time.
The good news is dinner is already cooking, my kitchen is clean, and I already started a load of wash. Now to tackle a few more things with the hour I have left. Whew! And the week is underway.
Happy Monday!

Ha ha, and I thought I was the only one who is NOT allowed to bathe or bathroom by their self. I someitmes lock all 3 doors when I need a nice long shower ( I tend to use this quiet time to pray, weird I know). I love my kids dearly, but way too often I hear a little voice, mommy I am ready for my shower and the door will open and a tiny neked person will hog the shower (we have a huge tub and a tiny shower stall). As much as I whine, I will miss it soon enough, as I hurry and wash my little one’s hair and step out so she can sing in the shower.
haha your shower must have been good if you forgot to wash your hair 😉
