Easy Dessert with Kids

January 21, 2011/Kid Tips

I know I promised reflection, but instead I’m giving you one of the easiest dessert recipes you can make with your kids.

The first thing you need is a tube of crescent rolls, a cookie sheet, and two beautiful assistants.

Preheat your oven according to the package. For us, it was 375 F. Separate and roll out the dough on the cookie sheet.

Have your assistants wash their hands and then put your choice of candy morsels in the middle. The original recipe I saw in some cooking with kids recipe book called for chocolate. We use chocolate and peanut butter chips.

Blanket the chips in the end of the dough and roll like a traditional crescent roll.

Pinch the sides so the candy doesn’t melt out the sides.

They should look like this.

Bake according to package. For us it was 11-13 minutes. Drizzle with the chocolate drizzle stuff you find in the baking isle. That’s the technical name. Promise. We’re out of chocolate drizzle so we substituted chocolate sauce. It was good, but the drizzle is better.

Serve warm. This is very important. You want to eat it while the dough taste doughy… like a croissant. If you let it cool, it tastes like a crescent roll.

These are easy and delicious.

Oh, and then try and get your toddler to stay still.

At least he’s cute.

Got the baking sheets, 4 beautiful assistants and 1 handsome assistant. I need the rest of ingredients. And thankfully I don’t have a toddler to keep still. But I sure do love yours.

Now that is pretty cool. I think I may have to try it out with my tribe. The kids are growing so fast!
