Fun Playdate Activity – Dipped Marshmallows

August 12, 2010/Kid Tips

I saw these marshmallows on another blog and thought what a great kid’s activity they would make so I got together all the ingredients and dragged a few kids kicking and screaming into the kitchen for some chocolate dipping fun. Okay, I’m kidding, the kids did not need to be dragged nor were they kicking or screaming.

We started with Baker’s Dipping Chocolate. You can also melt chocolate chips in a double broiler or in the microwave.

We took nice fluffy white jumbo marshmallows and put them on a toothpick.

And dipped them in the melted chocolate.

And rolled them around in bowls of crushed graham crackers or sprinkles. Peanuts are a great idea too, but we had a nut allergy present. No nuts for us today!

The results did not last very long. We ate them immediately.

We gave each child their own sprinkles bowl and little piece of wax paper. It worked great and they had a ton of fun.

Sam was the first to try them and gave them two thumbs up.

Elizabeth likes hers too.

Ryan watched our fun. We felt sorry for him and gave him a taste of chocolate. He was appreciative.

Ainsley also approved.

Somehow I missed getting a picture of Miss Natalie, but she loved the marshmallows too.

Enjoy!

Last night I was looking at the marshmallows thinking how can I make them yummier and look here you are posting about it! It must be Divine Intervention. ๐Ÿ™‚ Losing this baby weight might be harder this time around.

I’ve done this with apple slices, but marshmallows seem like a much tastier idea! ๐Ÿ™‚
