Ainsley’s First Day!

September 15, 2009/Ainsley

Ainsley has been talking about going to preschool since last year. She was very excited to finally start he-hool, er, I mean, preschool.

Then we got there. And she wasn’t so excited at the thought of mommy leaving. After I took her picture, I gave her a kiss and she started crying. I quickly left the room and I then heard her screaming, “I want my mommy. Mommy! I want my mommy.”  Not good.
A friend of mine came out a few minutes later and told me Ainsley was in the corner, sucking her thumb and playing with her shoes. Hmmm, in the corner? no toys? playing with her shoes?
When I picked her up she was chipper and excited about her day. She told me she had fun with her teacher. She sang a song on and off all afternoon that she learned at school. She liked it. Whew!

I love the first day of school pictures! Hopefully next time she goes it’ll be a bit easier to drop her off.

I cried just as much as my daughter did when she went to preschool. The teachers had a good laugh at me. She adjusted really well and it sounds like Ainsley is too. It is the momma’s that have most of the problems, lol.
