The middle child gets a day.

March 13, 2012/Ainsley

Yesterday ended up being okay. After Natalie left for school Ainsley turned to me and said, “Can you take today off from doing mommy work?” Sounded like a great idea to me so after doing a few necessary things, I took the day off.

The first thing we did was lie on the new rug in the family room and snuggle under a blanket. She asked me if I wanted to play the animal game…. pretty much twenty questions, but limited to animals. When she got sick of questions, she decided we should switch to charades.
Ryan and I spent the afternoon vegging on the couch, too. I really didn’t do much of anything.
Today is the day I have to get back up and get to work! Cleaning, cooking, organizing. It’s time.
Oh, and by the way, as someone who isn’t that into Easter baskets or handing my kids candy I have the insane desire to give them Easter baskets this year. What’s up with that?

I hear you on the Easter baskets, we do them but very little candy. the last few years, they’ve gotten a book – Christian book, a Christian T-shirt and a small toy or something. Anna’s 14 so her toy is normally a teen thing – something for her phone or a whatever, she’s a bit harder.

The trick is a small basket. 🙂

Give me an A, Give me an I, Give me an N, Give me an S…What does that spell? Darling. What does that mean? Beauty. 🙂

You want to give them baskets because it is fun! Cave in and give them the really big chocolate bunnies 🙂 It will be what they remember!
