Random Thoughts to start the week.

June 19, 2012/Miscellaneous

I just realized this didn’t post yesterday….

Just a few things:

1. One of Henry’s coworkers invited the girls to come ride her horse on Saturday. I took a ton of pictures that are stuck on my camera since I don’t have my camera USB cable with me. I’ll post about it on Tuesday.

2. Henry and I dropped the kids of at his parents’ house on Sunday for a week. I have the best in-laws ever.  While there we randomly attended a campaign stop by Romney. We just happened to be in town the same day as him.

The bus rolling in.
Speaking…

More speaking

We thought it was a good opportunity to see how he is in person. To be honest, Henry saw a lot more than I did. I mostly just heard his voice and saw a see of heads. The most excitement was when about four naysayers were escorted from the crowd by security. I guess all the protestors (of which there were several) had to stay outside the crowd.

3. Henry took off today so we are galavanting around eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania trying to figure out what adults do when they don’t have three children in tow. The first thing we did last night was take the scenic route toward PA, catch a movie, and stop for the night at a hotel. Today we hope to sight-see a little more and maybe go shopping. I know, we’re so adventurous you’re jealous….

4. The reason my in-laws have the children is because I’m headed to Atlanta for a blogger DIY conference at the end of this week. I’m totally excited to learn basic carpentry, get tips on reupholstering, and find out the correct way to use Annie Sloan chalk paint.

5. Henry and I are eating Paleo for the month of June. There are discrepancies among the community about how strict it is… we are following the strictest one. Paleo is short for paleolithic age and the diet encourages eating like cave men… lots of meat, veggies, fruits and nuts. NO dairy, grains of any kind, legumes, refined sugar, processed food, or starchy vegetables (potatoes, peas, corn). It makes me realize how much life revolves around eating… it’s sad in a way. When I’m home I don’t miss all the Don’ts very much, but being out and on vacation gives me the urge to treat myself to something… anything that’s fun to eat. The closest we got was buying some dates with shredded coconut and nuts added. We decided to try this lifestyle for at least a month to see how we feel. Henry feels great. I don’t. We’ll see where we in two weeks.

6. I hope to blog some from the conference, but if not, I’ll just have to tell you about it next week. There were some disappointed folks on Friday when I didn’t host the Pinterest Party so I’ll try to have something up this Friday so you can link up your projects.

That’s all I’ve got for now. Have a great day!

Natalie: “I miss you so much.” Ainsley: “I miss you.” Ryan: “The pancakes are good”. OK, OK, I read his mind.

So cool about the campaign rally you attended, and Awesome that you’re kidless for a whole week!! Hope you have fun at the conference!

(And I definitely noticed that you didn’t blog yesterday… I checked it like 5 times)

You might meet my niece at that conference! I heard she is going to one in Atlanta too. She blogs over at My Blessed Life.
