This child.

She’s into EVERYTHING. She’s reached the stage where she loves opening doors and pulling out anything she can find into one big pile. Sometimes she tries to eat the pile, other times she just pushes things around, gets bored, and moves on to the next cabinet. Oh the fun.

She no longer likes sitting in a cart. She wants to see the world… while standing. I am the mom everyone stares at while we pass because I’m letting my infant STAND in the cart while holding onto the back of her shirt. She’s the fourth… ‘nuf said.

So we tried this the other day…. it went swimmingly.

Always on the move… she doesn’t want to be contained. She reminds me a little of Natalie in that way…. always wanting to see what’s out in the big world and leaving mama behind (Ains and Ry were my constant shadows). Except she’s a little different…. I don’t remember Natalie wanting to stray so far in public places as such an early age. This one…. well, she’s going to be an adventurer like her big sis and father. I can just feel it.

This month she became very adept at climbing the hearth to get to her toys. Or sit up there and pull out the kindling paper. Or bang on the glass. You know, really anything to get into trouble.

She maneuvers this step so well that she moved on to effortlessly scaling the step between the family room and the kitchen. She’s no longer bound by one room anymore and I’m in trouble. She also managed to get onto the second step of our full flight of steps going upstairs.

She also figured out how to get the disc into her toy in the last week. She’s been working on this awhile and one day it just clicked.

She blows raspberries and clucks her tongue as a game… she wants you to mimic her. She likes to play a game where she stands up really tall and balances for a second or two before reaching out for something to balance herself or plopping down on her bum. She’s becoming better at standing a few milliseconds longer each time.

She slept through the night a few times when Henry and Natalie were away and then starting waking up frequently again… ugh! And just about the time I said, “she only has one tooth… I think my other babies had more” two more broke through her gums. Duh!  No wonder she’s been cranky. I’d show you a picture but she won’t sit still long enough… unless she’s sleeping.
