By Friday of this week, I was really missing my girls. There is hardly any time to just sit and play anymore. This adjusting to three thing is for the birds!
Saturday, Natalie and I took the morning and went on a mommy-daughter date. She was really excited to go yard sale-ing (very cheap date. I think we spent $3 including an ice cream treat for the Bean).  It was great just to be out with her and only her. She is so witty and smart.
Natalie is very, eh-um, managerial. She is the typical first child making sure that everyone, including her parents, are where they are supposed to be, doing what they are supposed to be doing, when they are supposed to be doing it. I hear myself often saying, “I’ve got it covered, thanks Nat.”
Sunday, Natalie and Henry went out for a bit leaving me home with a sleeping boy and the cutest two and a half year old on the planet. Ainsley spent most of the time playing around me, but not really with me. I watched as she made a habe (cave) out of couch pillows and played inside with hawberry horthake, a.k.a. Strawberry Shortcake. I had to beg her to give me kisses and snuggle with me for a few minutes. However, I didn’t take it personally and rather enjoyed watching her entertain herself.
Natalie has been talking about having a party for quite some time. I asked her what kind of party and she said, “the kind where you decorate and have food and games ready for everyone when they come.”  Oh, that kind, my bad.
So, she was very excited today when Henry took her to Party City to get decorations for a Mother’s Day party.  They came home with Minnie Mouse dinnerware and balloons. As Natalie was distributing them to everyone’s separate room, she realized there wasn’t enough for each person. “Can you not have a balloon, mom?”  “Sure.” I answered. A few minutes later she came downstairs and said, “You can share dad’s balloon since you share a room.”  Makes sense.
At lunch she looked at Henry and said, “We should’ve gotten a pinata!”
They also came home with this:
Which she wanted to trade for this:
She told me she got me a new ring since mine was very old. Nice try. Did I mention she’s smart?

I love this post… your girls are so sweet adn I am falling in love with them throguh your stories. Now I know you only tell us what you are censoring but still… how cute was this party? My boys have no clue how to do this stuff and don’t care! Your girls will be great at training Ryan and it sounds like your hubby has some good ideas too if he knew to take her to the party store:)
I have been trying to email you but my out box is jammed and I am too overwhelemd to call the comapny and fix it with my husband gone. I will get to it later today but this is the third day. I think we are heading to Richmond later this week or early next week… your neck of the woods (well not quite up as far as you but heading that way)… once I fix the email I will fill you in on that! Quite the adventure we have been taken on in the last week:)
Keep up the good work Mom… I am praying for you more than I have ben able to tell you lately with our turn of events but I really am! may His JOY continue to be your source of STRENGTH!
