I forgot to tell you. My brother graduated from basic training yesterday. He was awarded the Commanding General Award (which is displayed as an Army Achievement Medal – AAM). It is awarded to the top recruit for that class of basic training. It is something you compete for. He won. It is based on physical fitness, confidence, leadership, maintaining military presence (composure under pressure), and knowledge. He is the only one from his class to have a medal on his uniform (so far). He rocks. I’m proud. Now he is off to three months of more training. We hope to see him at Christmas.
