This moving thing has been pretty surreal. Since Ryan, planning for the future hasn’t been my forte. Nine months in the ICU will do that to you.

The movers come today to start packing. I’m hoping they will leave our beds up until Friday morning. If not, we’ll be staying at one of your houses overnight! Ha!
I think I’m in pretty good shape. I notified the utilities and the usps. I defrosted the freezer in the garage. I separated out all the clothes we’ll need over the next month or so while temporarily out of a home. I separated out Ryan’s toys and have a few little things left to pack up of the girls’ toys. Their crafts are packed. I packed up the files I’ll need – medical, financial, etc. – in case we’re in limbo for longer than expected. We’ve been eating as much food out of the freezer, fridge, and pantry as we can. I made scones, a pound cake, and a sour cherry cake over the last few days to get rid of flour and fruit from the freezer. I have some raspberries I need to make into a pie but I really don’t want to make a crust. But that would mean more flour and butter gone. Hmmm, anyone want a raspberry pie? Or how about the raspberries to make a pie? Or a fruit crisp? Just say the word.
The only thing I haven’t done is say good-bye to all my friends. I’m running out of time. I feel like we did a poor job of closing the loop here… but then I wonder if I’d ever feel good about leaving everyone. Probably not.
Oh and then there’s the little detail of having a house to move in to. Still don’t have one! It’ll all work out, right?

I haven’t said good bye because I’m still in DENIAL!

    I love you, friend.

Usually when we are “packed out” the beds are left up till the last minute, make sure to ask that they do that. They may take them apart and just leave the mattress and then they can leave you the cartons so they can be put in at the last minute. I always hate the last week of moving so much to do and so many goodbye’s to say, but in military we don’t say goodbye, we say we will see you later which is true many times we run into the same people we have lived by in the Navy community. I dont think you are going to be in the mood to bake later so let the razzberries go home with someone.

I know what you mean about not saying a proper goodbye to your friends. When we left Boulder, I felt like I was sneaking out, since I really didn’t have time to say goodbye, have a party, etc. It was sad, but it would’ve been sad either way. Best of luck to you all – we’ll miss you!

Yes sweetie…it’s all going to work out. You are in the Lord’s hands and He loves you all! I have been praying you will find your house soon.

The good thing about being blogging friends is that we don’t have to say good-bye…(:>)

I know it is hard…but with today’s technology you can keep in touch with your friends and family and neighbors…so don’t be too sad.

It sounds like you have done a good job of thinking all of this out. I am so glad you will be with Henry soon.

    God Bless!

    Love, Linda
