Ryan is getting much better. We know because his numbers are improved and he’s waking and asking for water ALL THE TIME! The doctors started yesterday really bringing down the support he’s getting that precludes him getting off the vent and he responded beautifully. He’s on a trial now that simulates being off the vent and his vitals have jumped significantly in the right direction. (Because of his Glenn physiology, he actually does better off a ventilator. He was only put on one because he absolutely needed it). This is very encouraging. The team will try to extubate him before lunch time. There’s always the possibility he’ll get tired after a few hours and need put back on…. I’ll post later this evening to give an update on whether or not it worked.
