Early Easter Egg Extravaganza

You’re wondering why I said “early” when Easter was a few days ago. I know. It’s because I’m a little behind on posting. I’ve been working on formatting the book (which hopefully I’ll be announcing the release of within the next week! Yippee!) and haven’t had time to do everything. Now that we have the excuses out of the way, let me tell you about the pictures.

Two weekends ago we suddenly had a day with nothing planned. We’d had a big event on the calendar for weeks, but it got postponed leaving us with an entire Saturday to ourselves. So we called up the Smiths who happened to have the afternoon free as well. We met up in a little sleepy town for an Easter egg hunt. Here are the kids waiting for the egg hunt to start.

It really wasn’t that much of a hunt. Really more of a pick-up… I guess they didn’t want to make it to hard?

That’s me in the grey and white plaid coat and Natalie in the bright pink one touching my back. Not sure what she’s doing, but I think I’m giving Ryan a bag for his eggs.

This one’s pretty self-explanatory.

And Natalie – who is one quick cat…

There was one golden egg per age group (the eggs were color-coded according to who could pick them up). When she told us she’d found the golden egg Henry said, “How do you know?” We were thinking it was an egg that looked like all the other ones but had a prize ticket inside.  She held it up and said, “Because it’s gold!” Duh.

She won a little gift bag with bunny ears.

We headed out to lunch at the Iron Bridge Inn. It’s about an hour from our house and every time Henry and I have tried to stop in there’s about a 2-hour wait. It was late afternoon so we got a table in no time.  The food was really good too.

The kids obviously had a great time.

We love the Iron Bridge. The same folks have Rachel’s just down the road as well. Yummo.
Love the picture of the sleeping ones. We have many as well – and yes a true sign of a fun day!
