Desperate Housewives – Suburbia Style

February 3, 2010/friends

Tuesday night there was supposed to be a big party at my house. Okay, not really that big, but a group of ladies that I hold near and dear to my heart; mostly from our small (Bible study) group from before Ryan’s birth. (We’ve been a little delinquent in attending since last February… we’ve been busy so cut us some slack!)

Anyway back on track. We try to get together every few months for some food, laughter and fun. And last night was a scheduled par-tay night. But then there was this….
And this:
So the crowd dwindled to these three brave souls:
Jea, Heather, Mary, and me
BTW, Mary is so courageous to venture out in this weather. She lives three blocks from me. She made her husband drive her and Heather drop her back home at the end. Brave, brave soul that she is.
This was on the menu:
We ate, we drank, and we were merry! And then it was time for the suburban desperate housewives to be on their way. I couldn’t help but get one more shot… but then Mary did this (something about getting her best side):
So I had to take another.
There, that’s better. They were off… giggling and running like school girls.
And then it was quiet. It was just me and my babe (Henry had long since retired to our bedroom with the computer and a DVD). We looked around the room, smiled and flirted with each other, then said goodnight and headed off for some sweet, sweet sleep.

Friends are the best. Looks like you all had a good time and good food.
You were flirting with a very cute young man by the way. Ryan is so adorable. Can’t wait to see him and kiss his chubby cheeks.

I’m sorry I didn’t come! I had a migraine and was in PJs when Bridget called to see if I was going. DOH! I forgot in all the excitement of getting ready for our trip and with the headache.

Maybe we could do a makeup movie mom’s night?
