Natalie woke up around 7:30 a.m. and came to wake us up. She’s been counting down the days until Christmas and was so excited that there were no more sleeps until the big day.   When she saw the gifts she said, “The gifts are so pretty. They’re all wrapped!”  We heard Ainsley stirring so Natalie went into her room and announced, “Come on, Ainsley. Santa came.”  We have never told our kids about Santa, and he still gets the credit. 🙂

Ainsley walked downstairs, cupped her hands around her mouth and said, “Anta! Anta!”  I said, “Santa’s not here, honey?”  “Anta, not ere?  Anta bye-bye?”    “Yes, Santa went bye-bye.”  “Anta, owe to erk?”  “Yes, sweetie. Santa went to work.”
The girls loved their presents – we get them three, one for each of the gifts presented by the wise men to Jesus. We then packed up the car and headed to Henry’s parents, then my mom’s, then Henry’s extended family. It was a full day, but we had a great time seeing family at each house.
Today, we spent the day spending time with family and playing the evening away with a new game we got for Christmas called Ticket to Ride – the German map. It is an awesome game and we recounted four times to find out who the winner was. Amy won, but at one point, Henry thought she only beat him by one point. That is what precipitated all the recounts. In the end, he lost by 11. 🙂   I’m sure there will be a rematch soon.
What did you do for Christmas?
