Christmas Break 2010

December 21, 2010/Family

Okay, please be nice with your comments. I know I have a sickness so there is no need to tell me. I don’t think it’s contagious so please keep coming around.

Today officially starts Christmas break for the girls. Ainsley had school on Monday, but no more. And Natalie’s last day was Friday. And Henry is off work the next two weeks. Yeah!

Two whole weeks of not having to get up and be ready for something and nothing to do!

I’m so excited. For weeks I’ve been thinking of things to do with the girls since we have whole days to ourselves.

Out came a pad and pen.

Henry and I sat down at lunch on Sunday and mapped out what we adults have on our ‘to do’ list until the end of the year. After Sunday dinner, I had a pow-wow with the girls to see what is on their list….

Here is what they came up with.

(if you look closely, you can see Ainsley put Gingerbread House on her list.)

I didn’t tell them all the things on my list… but I took their list and mine and combined them into a chart like we did for summer.

Then I combined it with our adult ‘to do’ list on a little calendar scrap to keep myself organized. With only two weeks and nine things on our fun list, I want to make sure we get everything in.

I keep reminding myself if we don’t get everything in, we’ll still have had fun! Okay, I’m off to make cinnamon Christmas ornaments. What are you doing today?

Jeremy has off the next 2 weeks too! We are cleaning. Our plans have been interrupted by vomit! YUK! We plan on cleaning and decluttering the next two weeks Cleaning out closets, toys , rearranging rooms I am so excited! Yes it is a sickness. Cleaning that is. 🙂 The other is just gross. Hoping its all contained and gone before Christmas day.
    Merry Christmas!

I organized the basement, and moved a giant bean bag chair in there with the help of a friend. Otherwise I am tidying up and making lists for Christmas trip packing.

I’m looking forward to some time at home as well…there are a few cleaning projects on my list as well. I think having some activities planned is a great idea!
