Busy week ahead.

May 17, 2010/Ryan
Arrived home safely on Saturday night. It took Ryan a few minutes to process who we were…. there were 9 of us that went on the trip and we all came in at the same time, well past his bedtime. After a few minutes of studying all our faces, Ainsley tugged on his arm several times and cooed at him…. I said the familiar phrase, “Ainsley, be careful!” He instantly went from studying everyone to smiling… like this:

First at Ainsley, which totally invalidated my command, then at me, then at Natalie. Henry walked through the room and Ryan zeroed in on him with the same cheesy grin. After that he couldn’t stop smiling. He even laughed a bit under his breath. It was darling. He is darling. We couldn’t help but smile and laugh back at him.
The vacation was great… I will post more pics throughout this week. Our internet was spotty and making it impossible to load the pictures. I will play catch up this week.
Came home and hit the ground running. I’m a bit overwhelmed with all that must happen this week. I remembered Friday as I was laying my head down to sleep that I am supposed to speak at a mom’s group at my church this Friday. I kept putting it off in my head because it was sooo far away. Friday I realized it was a week away. A WEEK! (now less). I really should consider what I’m to say to them. They expect me to say something! Anything! The Lord and I are talking…. I’m trying to talk less and listen more so I can hear what He wants me to say. Pray for me!
Ryan’s heart cath is rescheduled for this Thursday. I’m in logistics mode – planning for a stay with him… making arrangements for the girls, making arrangements for support for Henry, catching up on laundry so I can pack my bag again. Getting food back in the house after eating every last morsel before we left.
Thank you, mom, for cleaning my house top to bottom while I was gone. One less thing for me to stress about. It’s amazing how good it feels to walk into a freshly cleaned house.
Monday I’m downtown with Ryan for a pre-op exam to clear him for Thursday’s procedure. Tuesday laundry and getting ready to leave. Wednesday finalizing all plans. Thursday sitting in the heart catheterization waiting room for the sixth time in 15 months. Pray it goes well. It’s routine, but there are still risks. Bleeding, stroke, death. All the things mothers don’t want to think about. Pray for no complications. Pray for Dr. K – that God will guide his hands once more as he moves wires through Ryan’s blood vessels and into his heart. Pray that Ryan’s heart is functioning well and the doctors will have wisdom in analyzing the results. Pray for the girls and Henry. That the house will be peaceful without me here. That the girls will not have anxiety for Ryan. Just pray.
Okay, it’s Monday…. time to roll.
