I was going to wait until next month to post an update, but you are progressing so quickly I don’t want to forget anything.
Your speech is improving and you make a lot more babbling sounds including: ya-ya, di (as in a short i sound), ah, ba-ba, da-da, mmmm, duh, lum, ma-ma, ah-oh, oh, da (soft d, almost a th instead of hard d for da-da), al-ba, ga-ga and a whole host of combinations of these sounds.
You say “hi”, “up” and “ma” and sign “all done”, “out/up” and “more”. I think you tried to moo the other day like a cow. You nod your head yes vigorously using your entire body to bring your head forward. It’s very cute.
You give mommy kisses while saying ‘mmmm’.
Your legs are getting stronger. You are almost crawling, you pull yourself onto my lap, with the right support you can go from the sitting to standing position, and you scoot on your rear to get to toys just out of your reach. You love your excersaucer still, but now stand a lot while playing. The structure gives you just the right support to allow you to do so without falling over.
You love music and I’ve caught you singing along with CDs and your sisters.
Your eating could use some work, but you take the tiniest pieces of cheerios now although you still make a very funny face when you feel them on your tongue. You drink from a soft-tipped sippy cup and eat 1-2 tablespoons of baby food at one sitting. Most days you don’t choke or spit-up, but every once and awhile, the food goes down the wrong pipe and comes right back up.
Today, you are downtown getting an upper GI to make sure your anatomy will tolerate a G-tube, which is scheduled to be placed on August 9th as well as having a follow-up swallow study.
I can’t believe how far you’ve come in the last 8 months. You’ve had so much to overcome. We’re so proud of you.

Praise God for this little boy! He is such an inspiration! I can’t believe he has come so far, and I can’t wait to hear about all the new things he will learn in the future! Love you, Ryan!
Ryan does have a barrette in his hair! PTL for all of his accomplishments!!! Many more to come and it’s exciting to see! :o)
Sweet little Ryan! A willing client for his big beauty salon sisters!
I remember putting barrettes in my dad’s hair when I was little. What fun!
Glad he is progressing nicely.
Glory to God!
Absolutely too cute!!
He is not only doing great but he is looking great also! Your doing a wonderful job with this little precious one!
He is doing amazingly well!
I just wanted to let you know that we had Karsie home with an NG tube for 3 weeks and then she had a g-tube placed, and it has been an amazing difference for us. We love the g-tube and are thankful for the ease of use. She also had a fundo done at the same time to reduce spit-ups… but the g-tube has been such a good thing for her. After your post on hating to place the NG tube (to which I can relate) I am so happy for you to be having a g-tube placed. If you have any questions please feel free to email me!

LOL!!! He looks so much like Ainsely with that little clip in his hair… which I’m sure is not helping me “really, Ainsley’s hair is so cute!” cause.
The g-tube sounds scary and exciting all at the same time.
We thank Jesus daily for you and for what He has done in your life. Keep going little man!
Nice hair-do you got going there.
so happy to hear of all his progress!
What an amazing and wonderful little boy. Lots of his progress to due to his fantastic family
WOW!…This is quite a long list of accomplishments! I am praising God for Ryan’s progress.
Ryan is such a blessing…and he is very blessed to have such a wonderful mommy…and daddy.
Looking forward to the next long list…so I can give thanks again to our wonderful Lord for doing so much in “our” Ryan’s life. (Thanks for sharing Ryan and the girls with us…I know I enjoy reading about then.)
In Christ’s love,
Linda @ Truthful Tidbits
Such a good thought to end my day tonight, thank you Ryan. You are truly an inspiration to wake up and face my own little trials and tribulations.
You don’t know me but I have been reading your blog for quite some time now. Ryan is an absolute little darling and it is so wonderful to hear that he is doing so many great things. We too had a little boy who wasn’t supposed to survive but did for a long time so I understand how incredible each new thing they do is and how each moment is cherished.
Keep up the great work Ryan!
