Natalie is growing up.

December 12, 2008/Natalie

Tonight as I was tucking Natalie into bed she says, “Mommy, Kaden doesn’t get to sit next to me any day. Camryn wants to sit next to me every day and she said Kaden isn’t my friend.”

“Well, you know that isn’t true, right?” I say.

“Right. But Camryn won’t share. She wants to always sit by me. I’m not going to sit next to Camryn anymore.” She says.

“Maybe you could sit in the middle and let Camryn sit on one side and Kaden on the other.” I say.

“What a good idea.” She gushes. “Just like you do with me and Ainsley. But mommy, we have a problem with this.”

“What’s that?” I ask.

“There’s two chairs like this and one like this.” she says indicating positioning with her fingers that only two chairs fit next to each other at the table.

“Then why doesn’t one of them sit across from you like we do at our table with you and Ainsley. You’ll be close to each other still.” I suggest.

Again gushing, “That would work. I’m gonna tell Camryn Kaden is my friend.”

This is the first time I remember her telling me about a problem in her day. I love that she shared this with me and we were able to work the problem out together. I’m guessing they won’t get any easier than this.
