… for Christmas programs!
Natalie’s program was Friday night. She was an angel in the kindergarten/first grade nativity scene.
Getting ready to leave the house.
The back of her head (two french braids with a halo) to the lower left of the green magi.
Saying her recitation with her class. (Sorry it’s so blurry, my camera is not great from far away and I was far away.)
Live version of the recitation. I think it’s called, “A Christmas Prayer” by Robert Louis Stevenson
Afterward, the students led us outside to sing carols under the bell tower. (Their school rents from a church that was built in the 1800s. They have cool things like a bell tower and a small, ancient graveyard.) Again, I was far away – Natalie was with her class.
I got closer so I could get a better shot.
“Can I go stand with Natalie?” Ainsley asked.
When I went to tell Natalie we were ready to go she said, “All of us? Do we have to?” The singing wasn’t quite done and I could tell she really didn’t want to leave. She was having fun even though it was fuh-reezing. So I gave in. We stayed. She smiled.
They ended the night by serving us hot apple cider and cookies on the lawn. When we went to Natalie’s classroom to return her angel costume, she showed Ainsley around the room. She said in a sing-songy voice, “This is my desk…” It was adorable to see her taking Ains by the hand and showing all the important things from her school day.
And then we went home. The End.

What a cute and proud moment for Natalie. It is always fun to show the kid sister around and impress her with all the big girl places. I love it! She did good in her program. She knew all the words. Good job Natalie! love you.
OK…as a second grade teacher, your ending just cracked me up!!
