Merry Christmas everyone! We’ve been spending the last few days with family and are looking forward to the rest of the week visiting with family and friends. This Christmas was pretty stress-free – hallelujah!
Every year we give the kids ornaments. I try to make them specific to something they liked or experienced during that year. This year, Henry made them play “Daddy says” to see who would get to open theirs first. Ryan won out of default of not mimicking his sisters fast enough the first time Henry didn’t use the phrase “Daddy says.”
Ryan got an angry bird. He loves that and Mickey Mouse and I didn’t see anything in the stores of Mickey that we liked so angry birds it was. Ryan was giddy when he opened it…
The girls got little soccer players. (Ainsley didn’t want in the pic) They liked theirs too.
The girls have really come to enjoy this tradition. They start talking about it as they decorate the tree each year. What’s your favorite holiday tradition?
Santa puts an ornament in our kids’ stockings each year so that they can eventually “grow” their own collection of ornaments for someday when they are older and on their own. 🙂 Don’t you just love the family history that is in Christmas ornaments!?! 🙂

The kids get new pjs on Christmas Eve and we all watch a Christmas movie together. Then my hubby makes breakfast on Christmas morning.
