They decided late yesterday afternoon Ryan needed some new scenery, so we moved down the hall to the HKU. I remember this unit well because the construction men are working right outside the windows. Typical of most construction sites, they are up and moving (heavy noisy machinery) at the crack of dawn. God bless their little pea-pickin’ hearts.
Ryan is a little less fussy today but continues to be agitated if he is moved. Lying still he will sleep peacefully, but if you try to change his diaper, start his feeds, take his temperature…well, you get the picture… his little face turns purple in anger.
His skin expanders look great. As soon as I have access to my computer to upload pics I’ll fill you in (no pun intended) on how his expanders sit and how they work. He has bruising around the implant spots but that is to be expected with the trauma from surgery.
He continues to have shallow breathing so he is still on his liter and half of supplemental oxygen. Really, the only reason we are still here is because isn’t getting the oxygen he needs. Hopefully in the next day or two, his pain levels will come down allowing him to take nice deep full breaths.
Since I don’t have any exciting news for you or gorgeous pictures, I will let you in on my newest favorite product. For the men in the group, stop reading now (I mean that in the sweetest way possible). This product is for women only and will never come in handy or change your life the way it has mine.
There are several things on the market that have totally changed my life-style. One being this and the other being that, but none have changed my life as much as the Pump-Ease bra. This little baby has saved me much wasted time. And for those who know me well…I hate sitting around wasting time. It is extremely hard for me to sit and do just one thing at a time. For example, it’s not unheard of for me to eat breakfast and unload the dishwasher at the same time. Or say, bathe the girls and clean up the bathroom. Or perhaps talk on the phone and drive.
The Pump-Ease is my newest way of multi-tasking. Now, I can claim to (whisper) pump while driving….pump while making cookies….pump while making dinner…and (gasp) pump while applying makeup. However, I can safely say I have never pumped while driving and applying make-up. Whew!
I’m telling you, ladies, if you pump on a regular basis, this is the product for you! If you have one, let me know. If you plan on getting one, let me know. If you hate it….well, you can tell me that too. But I’m guessing there aren’t that many of you out there that aren’t thrilled with the Pump-Ease.
*Disclaimer – I in no way am receiving any compensation for this rave review. In fact, Pump-Ease makers don’t even know I own one. This is a fully unbiased review based on my personal experience not encouraged by the manufacturer.

We have been praying for Ryan and will continue to do so. We hope his shallow breathing will improve soon.
Now, for the funny post about the pump bra,….I laughed and laughed.
I am sure that nursing mothers who need to pump will be amused too,…and rush right out to get one! Us old grannies will just get a chuckle out of it. ((smile))

I am definitely getting one of those for my friend.
I am glad to hear Ryan is doing well. It was so great to see you this past weekend. I love the bra, wish that had been out when I needed it:) You are still in our prays. Love, Amanda
Oh my gosh, I totally blogged about that thing the other day (http://verassong.blogspot.com/2009/06/totally-random-breastfeeding-post.html) ha ha! Praying for you all still!!!
We do continue to pray for sweet Ryan and your family!
I did love your posting on a few of your favorite things! Very cute!
Love,
Jennifer
Your hilarious, I wish I could have found that while I was still pumping and nursing instead of sitting in a chair for 20 minutes. Praying Ryan’s pain gets easier for him and comes home soon.
We are praying for Ryan and your fam! Hopefully his O2 will get to normal soon so he can get home!
I was rolling laughing about the pump ease! I don’t think I know anyone who can cook while pumping!
So glad that school isn’t in session — and that you put disclaimers in your blogs. I would always read your recent post about Ryan at the beginning of Bible class each day so we could pray for him. Henry’s cousin Alex is in that class. So glad to hear he’s doing well. Tammy
I’m so glad to hear the great progress Ryan is making and will continue praying for his recovery and that he gets to come home soon!:) As for the other stuff,
HAHA You’re so funny! I don’t owe any cats so that won’t apply, but the slicer is pretty handy-lookin’ 🙂 the pump bra is no use for me at this point but that’s def. good to know that is out there because I, too, don’t like to sit around wasting time, I like to multitask when I can 🙂 Have an awesome night! 🙂
