The Gingerbread House

December 14, 2011/Holidays
The week after Thanksgiving we started decorating for Christmas. I buy my gingerbread house kits after the new year when they are typically marked down to like two bucks. Then I put them in storage with my ornaments. When the girls saw the kit from last year you can guess what they wanted to do. It wasn’t even Dec. 1! However, I thought, why not? And being I lost the last week unexpectedly, I’m really glad I gave them the go ahead.
Here are the girls putting the decorations in bowls.

Waiting for the gingerbread house to be sturdy enough to work with was torture for the girls. They could hardly stand it. Boy were they happy when they were able to get going.

Ryan is now old enough to participate. At first he was taking the candy off as the girls put it on, but it didn’t take long for him to catch on.

The kids worked together on the top and then each had their own side to work on. It cut down on the fighting and they were able to imagine their own design. Ainsley made as many smiley faces as she could.
The finished product.
Is your family doing a gingerbread house this year?

Read about your beautiful “Miracle Boy” on fox news this morning and found your blog by google. What an inspiring family you are. And I love that you are so real on your blog.

And btw…the gingerbread house is fabulous!

That looks like a lot of fun for the kids. Ryan looked like he was really concentrating on doing it correctly. (:>)

    Praying for all of you!

    Love, Linda
