Blogger is not letting me upload pictures today so instead of wordless wednesday, I will instead tell you about Natalie and baby boy.

If you’ve been following the blog for very long, you know that Natalie was telling people I was pregnant long before I actually was. So when we told her we were having a baby, she was ecstatic. That was way back in August. We told her all the family birthdays and holidays we had to get through before he would be born, ending with Valentine’s Day. She now knows we only have one more holiday to go and has been preparing for baby boy non-stop. The other day she was piling things on her dresser. She said, “Mom, these are little pieces and baby boy can’t have them.”  I assured her it would quite some time before he would be getting into her stuff.  The same day I heard her saying to Ainsley, “When baby boy gets here, no hitting. Be gentle. And no telling him he can’t come in your room. He’s little.”
Today, she was singing into her toy microphone and rubbing my belly. Baby boy moved and she was delighted. Although I’ve tried to let her feel him move, this is the first time she felt it. She couldn’t get enough. She leaned down and said loudly into her microphone, which was now pressed up against my tummy,  “Are you ready to come out here baby boy?”
Natalie knows baby boy has a boo boo on his heart. She hears me pray that God will heal the baby and he will be alright. When I tell her baby boy will be in the hospital longer than mommy she comprehends it for the moment, but seems to forget by the next time we talk about it. I know it will be hard for when he’s actually there, sick and needing so much from mommy. But for sure, no one will question that this big sister loves her little brother.
