Sweet Frog with a sweet lady

April 10, 2013/Family

My grandmother rode with my sisters and me home from my Aunt Glenda’s funeral. We took her to pick up her car in a town which is on the way back to my mom’s house. As we got off the exit, Grandma said, “Oh! Your father took me to a place called Sweet Frog the other day. It was delicious!”

She ended up mentioning it several more times to the point where we realized she wanted to go again. So we took her.

She was in and dipping up her ice cream before we could even get out of the car!

Being dairy-free I was going to just get a little bit to make my grandma happy. Seriously. Just the tiniest bit…. but then I realized they had several flavors that were gluten, soy, and dairy free. Um, yes please!  I tried Mango and Raspberry Pomegranate. Both were amazing, but my favorite was the Raspberry Pomegranate combo.

They also had a huge toppings bar with many, many candy options and almost just as many fresh fruit options. I threw some berries on top of mine. Yumm-O!

During the drive and while eating our ice cream (that grandma insisted on buying us) we reminisced about the times we spent at her house as children…. like the time we caught the field mouse that somehow found it’s way into her mountain home. Or the hours we spent playing canasta on the porch with her and our great-grandma. Or the many walks our grandfather took us on to find geodes and fossils. It was a fun way to spend the drive home. And a great afternoon snack! I have a feeling I’ll be on the look out for more Sweet Frogs.

These yogurt places are popping up everywhere under different names so if you don’t find a “Sweet Frogs” near you there may be the same concept store under a different name. All the ones I have been to (4 different states!) offer a dairy, gluten, and soy free option. So good!

Also just to let you know, Sweet Frog is a Christian company. the frog stands for Fully Rely on God, and they are franchises. Isn’t it great to make good memories with family, but also while supporting a Christian company? 🙂
