Surgical Update

November 30, 2009/Ryan

Ryan is out of surgery and getting comfortable in his room. We will be able to see him shortly.

The surgeon said everything went well and Ryan tolerated things beautifully. We expect a few days of pain management before we try to wean Ryan off the vent. Please pray this goes smoothly and he is able to breathe on his own soon.

So happy that Ryan made it safely out of surgery. Here’s to hoping that he will be able to come home soon and you will have a complete family all underneath one roof.

Leighann I am so glad to hear that the surgery went well. I am thanking God and rejoicing with you.

I will keep praying as the days go by. My biggest desire is that Ryan will improve each day and that he will soon be able to go home.

The Lord has put you all in my heart and my husband and I pray for you each morning as we do our devotion time together.

    Love, Linda @ Truthful Tidbits

Given I walk many a hospital hallway, here is my two cents. I look a person in the eye and say good morning. Granted I am hospital administration so I try to project a feeling of friendliness to people who are dealing with far more that I will ever know, but you would also help more than you would probably ever know. It always amazes me how isolated visitors and families can be in the medical environment. It is not a long interaction; just recognition that they are there. I would skip the handshaking given the potential of transmitting germs to Ryan. Saying good morning also covers many languages and cultures so you don’t have to worry about trying to engage someone who speaks another language or has cultural issues with touching strangers. Los Angeles is so culturally diverse I am always sensitive not to assume someone wants to be touched or engaged in a conversation. Even someone looking at the floor can hear a friendly “good morning”. Prayer group is continuing hourly prayers for you all!
