Ryan’s preschool class went to the firehall last Friday. We listened to a presentation on fire safety. Did you know October is fire safety awareness month?
Me either.
We practiced stopping, dropping and rolling.
Fireman Mitch (or whatever his name was) dressed up in his fire gear so if we should ever need him we’ll know he’s a friend and not hide under our bed or in our closet.
They offered to let the kids try on the outfit. Ryan is the only kid who stuck around. He insisted on wearing everything from the boots to the hat.
Then it was all about the trucks….. and ladders.
He climbed up in the truck umpteen times and would’ve kept doing it if I hadn’t have carried him out kicking and screaming.
Okay that’s an exaggeration. He was just slightly whimpering about not wanting to leave. But really people, we shut the place down. Even the teacher was walking to her car.
