Stitch Fix is Back! I need your help!

May 22, 2014/Product Review

You may remember 2 summers ago I found a service called Stitch Fix where you fill out an insanely detailed profile and a personal shopper goes to work picking out things that fit your body shape and personality, and perhaps opens your world up to things you never would’ve tried on before. Being somewhat fashion-challenged and more importantly time-challenged, I love the concept. I did 3 or 4 sessions before finding out I was pregnant with Piper. Sadly, Stitch Fix doesn’t do maternity clothes so I took a hiatus.

Well, I’m back in the saddle!  What I’ve found is that each fix gets more to my liking as I give feedback on why I don’t choose certain items. When I opened up this box, I like every single piece of clothing in it. Whoop! Whoop!  Sadly though, for different reasons, I’m not keeping them all… I’ll tell you what I think in a few days if you tell me what you think today. I have to send everything back on Saturday, so vote now!

Up first, this red shirt by Lily. I’m telling you that as if I know brand names. I don’t. I also don’t know why Ryan looks so concerned in this photo.

Next up, this denim jacket by Kut. I asked specifically for a denim jacket as they are apparently “in”. I wanted one that was tailored and not acid washed (although that looks to be coming back too – blek!).

Thirdly, this mixed pattern shirt by Ritz. I loved this shirt the moment I saw it on top of the pile…

Mostly because the polka-dotted back is so stinkin’ cute.

And finally, this striped maxi dress by Renee C. For the obvious reason of I’M NURSING I’m going to go ahead and tell you I’m not keeping this one. It’s cute and comfortable, but there’s no easy way to nurse in it. Boo!

My stylist also sent a canvas summer tote, but I’m all toted up, bagged up and pursed up as I ever need to be so that’s going back too. Offering bags is a new thing so I need to update my profile.

What do you think? Should I keep any of it? All of it? None of it?

p.s. If you want to schedule your own fix, you can do so here.

Well – I love the red shirt def keeper. That could be dressed up for an evening out or casual with jeans. I love pieces like that. The jacket is cute and yes they are back “in” but I think another style of shirt under it would be more flattering. The jacket fits well though. I love my jean jacket with summer dresses. I like the idea of the mixed patterns but not a fan of the shirt. Maybe if it was tucked? It looks comfy but pretty big for you. The maxi dress is really cute but I get why it doesn’t work now. Maybe a maxi skirt with a more nursing friendly top. 🙂 my two cents…..I am no expert though.

I’m a fan of the first two items- red shirt and denim jacket 😉

I love the red shirt. It’s your colour for sure. The denim jacket looks like it’s a bit too small and can’t close? , don’t know much about fashion myself, I’m more of a hoodie person myself, so I’m not sure if it has to 🙂 I’m not crazy about stripes that don’t go up and down, very hard to find btw. I don’t think the dress suits you at all. It might make a great nightgown ***grin** I hope you’re okay with my honesty

I like the red shirt and jean jacket. I’m not in love with the other items.

Yes to red shirt for sure. I like the jacket but it looks small to me. Maybe it is suppose to fit like that. Third one is ok but I would probably send it back. The dress doesn’t look like it fits like it should.

The red shirt is a must. I also like the black and white shirt, but it seems a bit big/non fitted…looks comfy though. The demin jacket was cute, but seemed too small/short for my liking. Of course, I must note that I do not have a good fashion sense, so I actually feel a little silly making comments, but am just basing it on initial reactions to the photos.

I really like the red shirt and the denim jacket. The stripe/polka dot shirt is cute but it doesn’t look as good on you as the red shirt. BTW how did those kids grow so fast, I mean you just had them…

I like the red shirt and jacket!

I love the red shirt and it looks great on you!!! I’m not a fan of the black and white striped shirt as I think it being non-fitted doesn’t flatter you. You’ve got the physique that can definitely pull off fitted clothes, so I think they will look better. The dress just doesn’t do you justice at all. It looks like an old-fashioned style to me. Like some of the others stated, I’m not the most keen on fashion sense, so all of my comments are just instant impressions of what they looked like to me.

Keep the red shirt – send the other back.

I love the two shirts and the jacket! They are really cute. The red shirt looks amazing on you and it can be dressed up and down. The mixed pattern shirt is adorable and looks super comfy. I would keep the shirts for sure.

I like the red shirt n the jean jacket but not the other two items.

Red shirt and jean jacket. The jacket should be form fitted and cropped like it is so that it looks feminine and edgy. Hope you keep both!

  • Brenda Taylor / May 25, 2014 / Reply

I agree with many of the others. The red shirt and jean jacket are keepers. The striped dress just does not look good on you.

I really like the striped/polka for shirt! Can you imagine how cool and comfy that’s going to be this summer!! The red shirt looks super cute on you too, although (in my opinion) you might not get as much use out of it as a more casual style. The jean jacket is meant to fit like that! I love it and you’ll get a lot of use out of it!! I hope you’ll give us an update on what you decided to keep!
