For this week’s seven quick takes, I give you Confessions of a Stay at Home Mom. These will solidify in your minds that I put my pants on one leg at a time just like you! Enjoy.

1
These are my exercise clothes. They have been sitting right here in the hall since Sunday night. I am going on two weeks of not working out… my body is tight and sore… my punishment for not working it out. I hope to resume my activities next week. And to save myself time, I think I’ll leave those clothes right there all the way through the weekend.
2
My dresser does not fit in my room and even if it did, I’m not sure this would change… these are my pants. I take them off at night and hang them on the towel bar. The t-shirt and sweat pants on the right are my pjs. Pants go on the towel bar, pjs go on the body and vice-versa in the morning. I have no excuse, just pure laziness.
3
This is my tennis shoe. It is sitting on my front porch. I managed to step in animal feces Wednesday somewhere between my yard and my neighbor’s yard. Neither of us have outdoor pets so I’m not sure who the culprit is. What I do know is that the last thing I have time for is ridding the tread on my tennis shoe of poopy. I am unsure how long this shoe will sit here, but I’m guessing it will be into next week if not longer before I move it to the garage and then maybe address the issue. I’m hoping nothing takes up residence in it before then. Hmmm, I might turn it sideways in case it rains.
4
Ryan’s room is our new storage room. It’s a mess. I would take a picture of it but unfortunately it does not have a working lamp. The one I used from the time Natalie was a baby shorted out and I have yet to buy another one. Since Ryan doesn’t live here, I can live in denial that I need to spend the money on a new one. As of now, we only use the room during the day to iron our clothes. On dark mornings or overcast days it’s questionable that our clothes are ironed well.  I think we should count this one as two since storage and lamp are two different issues.
6
This is a stack of books I would like to read. This does not include my official reading list. These are books I’ve found at yard sales and book sales that called my name. I have a similar stack on my nightstand.
7
These are my flower pots. They have weeds growing in them. They’ve had weeds growing in them for, um, about twelve months. Okay, that’s not true. The plastic one is the gerber daisy pot my mom gave me when Ryan came home in April. It bloomed for awhile, but then died from neglect. But the rest of them haven’t had flowers in them since last summer. I guess I can recycle that plastic pot… can I count that as an 8th confession?
If you’re brave enough, confess one (or more) thing on your ‘to do’ list.

The main thing on my To Do list is to Dump my cheating boyfriend, then clean my house, sell my car, find a roomate for Dec 1st, pack for my Vegas trip that’s in a week, finish going through all of my books and getting rid of the ones I do not want to read again (let me know if you want books lol), start going to the gym (I haven’t used my pass in 8 months, you’re doing really well) and lastly…buy a really large bottle of wine and drink until I forget him….I may not get anything else on my list done.

I might go ahead and do a ‘seven quick takes’ on my own blog today if I get time. But in case not, then I will leave a confession on here! ((deep breath))
I still haven’t gotten all of the clothes/laundry put away since moving into the new house…um, almost 9 months ago now! It’s like I would find boxes and bags to unpack and not get them finished and then the clothes we were wearing would get washed and just add to them and it’s just overwhelming piles!! I have made progress on it in the past couple of weeks, but if you came over to my house I still wouldn’t let you look in my closet….it’s where I hide all of it when I’m needing to ‘pretend’ it isn’t there. lol

Loved hearing your confessions! Hope you have a great weekend and that Ryan keeps getting better and better.

I have a mile long To Do list even though I am a SAHM! I would love to actually get everything unpacked from our move which was 7 months ago.

Good Granny’s Gravy…I pull out the clothes basket and sweep the tables, counters and couches when I know I am going to have company come by and I am too lazy to “Clean” I stuff it all in a closet and I may get to that basket a few days, weeks later LOL.

I want to find a book to read. I”m home sick with walking pnemonia and I finished my last unread book in the house and I”m antsy but our library isn’t what it SHOULD be and I”m afraid even if I go down there, I”ll be disappointed and want to think unnice things about this. So I’ll sit and pout until I figure something out.

I took the sheets off of my bed, washed them, dried them, put them in a basket and they sat there at the foot of my bed for the next week. Yes, I slept without sheets for a solid week (there’s a mattress cover…) 🙂 You know what I think is funny is that I was thinking of copying your blog idea but then I thought my husband would make fun of me for taking the time to take a picture (and loading it on the computer and blog)of the lone shoe on the back patio and not just picking it up and putting it away! 🙂 I don’t need to hear it from him, so I’m going to just leave all my messy things where they are and ignore them for now…

    Thanks for sharing with us!!

You know I love you, but I am glad that some things don’t change:) I know this will be hard to believe, seeing as I’m OCD with a lot of stuff, but our bed and the kids beds have not been made in months! I change sheets once a week but when you are trying to get 2 kids off to school every morning who cares is the blankets are spread out nicely on the bed:) Love you, Amanda L

On my to-do list I have yet to put away my laundry that I have hanging on the rack for about a week now, scrub the bathtub, and I confess that I left a pile of dishes which I normally do not do in the sink for more than 3 days until yesterday morning before work, I decided to clear the sink so I feel a bit better 😉

you crack me up with the quick takes. There is a bucket that’s been sitting on my deck for WEEKS and I just cannot find the motivation to move it. I don’t even remember why it was put there but I think it’s going to stay. If I wasn’t so lazy I could put it back in my garage, but why do the extra work when I already do so much??

    BEST WISHES AND GOD BLESS

where to begin with my confessions??? when i take off any tank tops or bras, i hang them on the doorknobs of my bedroom and bathroom. same with bathingsuits that still can be worn the next day…i hate sweeping the floor which is, er, make that should be a daily occurance around here. there are currently chips and bread crumbs under it that i should be sweeping instead of confessing. our van doors are acting up because too much sand is in the track – should have vaccuumed that out two weeks ago….BUT hey, God gives grace and what i have noticed is this: the to-do list never ends. you know what mom says: cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow because babies grow up, we’ve learned to our sorrow….so enjoyed the kids and forget about the rest, right??? much love and way to go confessing your deepest unorganized areas..

Hmm, what’s NOT on my to-do list?? We’ve needed to recaulk our master bedroom shower for, oh, about 6+ months now. I finally got around to starting it the other day but didn’t quite finish it. So, Dan and I are taking over the kids’ bathroom (it’s fun shoving aside all the toys to shower, really, it is). When will we get around to finishing it? No idea, esp since we have decided to strip the wallpaper and repaint while we’re at it.

Oh, and I also have a HUGE stack of books-to-read!

I love the towel bar as clothes hangers. I do the same thing except I just use our whirlpool tub. I throw all of my pants over it and my PJs when I take them off. We never use the darn thing for anything else!

Lisa, I probably have a basket like that (sweeping things into when cleaning) that hasn’t been gone through for maybe 3-5 years. It moved from downstairs to the other side of the bedroom.
Alisha, if that one bucket is it, come help me!
We found an amazing number of the round Kix cereal pieces under the dining room table. They are still there.

You’ve ruined it Leighann. My perfect image of you will now forever be tarnished by a picture in my mind of your exercise clothes on the floor for a week. 😉 My workout clothes hang on the spout in our soaking tub. Which I never clean (the tub) because we never use. And the clothes have been hanging there since only being used once since I found out I was pregnant. And I’m now 18 weeks….

We sold our house in August, moved into a temporary rental in September and I cleaned the bathtubs the day we moved in. I haven’t cleaned them since. I keep telling myself that they “look” clean, but I’m sure they’re totally gross and yet I continue to ignore them because I really hate cleaning bathtubs. So it’s November and the tubs haven’t been cleaned since September. Yikes! Now that I confessed that you’re going to be my accountability (like it or not…who knew you’d be signing up for this when you started a blog?? 🙂 I’ll come back and leave a comment when I actually clean them. Maybe I’ll do it right now (or maybe not…I’d much rather go on a bike ride with my four year old 🙂

  • Judy / November 15, 2009 / Reply

So I finally cleaned my bathtubs two days ago (and I’m just now getting around to telling you about it). Honestly, after I confessed on your blog how long it had been since I cleaned my tubs it bugged me and bugged me and I started worrying about getting it done. We were out of town for a few days and I cleaned them as soon as we got home. Yay! It’s done, at least until next week!
