Okay, I know we said good-bye to fall, but I have one more question:
What are you guys doing with your thanksgiving left-overs?
We ate the same meal Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I even made stuffing on Sunday to replace what we ate! It was sooo delicious. So delicious that I wish I had another helping of my mom’s sweet potatoes right now. Yum. To change things up, Monday we had BBQ turkey with cole slaw, potato salad, and green beans, except for Ainsley who informed me she doesn’t like BBQ sauce.
We also have left-over cranberry sauce. Enough to make the delicious roast my friend, Heidi, told me about. She found it on Stephanie’s A Year of Slowcooking crockpotting site. Is crockpotting a word? Oh well, I have a blog so I can make up words if I want to, right?
Anyway, you just take a roast (I use a London Broil), cranberry sauce, one sliced onion and 2 tbsp soy sauce and cook it all in a crock pot. How easy is that? And surprising wonderful. Try it if you have leftover sauce. Stephanie’s recipe is here. And while you’re there, check out some of her other slow cooker recipes. I don’t get anything for this plug. She doesn’t even know I exist. I really just like her ideas. And like helping you other slow cookers out. I’m a team player like that.
And while I’m rambling, I’m going to throw this one out… the other day I had too much stuff in my hands to open the front door so I turned to Ryan and jokingly said, “Can you hold mommy’s tea?” and then kindof shoved the cup between our bodies. Wouldn’t you know he picked it up and put a death grip on it?
I had to fight him to get it back. I won. He thought he was funny.
Okay and because I promised them they would make the blog, here is a group of my high school friends from a few weeks ago. We had a class reunion… about half of us made it. Because we didn’t get enough of each other at the afternoon reunion, we met for dinner and dessert that night. It was fun to catch up with people I don’t see very often. To hear about their kids, their jobs, their lives. We really should do it more than every five years. Love you guys!
Okay all that was totally random, but fun. My mind is clear and you all will give me wonderful ideas on what to do with the turkey I still have leftover. If you don’t, I’m freezing it to make turkey and wild rice soup with later this winter. So give me ideas!

How about a Turkey Panni or Turkey Panni wrap, put some cream cheese on your bread or wrap top with cranberry sauce add your turkey and what else you want on it and grill it like a panni ( a heavy lid and pan makes a good press). Turkey Tetrazzini over some rice or noodles with some nice crusty bread.
I am not a fan of BBQ either, but I will crock ribs in BBQ for the family who loves it.
Good job Ryan…
i don’t know why but the face that ryan held your tea is really heartwarming to me. what a cutie!

Here is another soup recipe that I made last night. It’s from Yahoo’s Shine, and I haven’t had a bad recipe from them.

I just substituted turkey for the deli chicken. It was SO good!
Your family has so much love to share. It is nice to see. Also, my friend’s 3 mth. old had to get a nasal feeding tube. She is struggling with the tape causing blisters and raw skin on baby’s cheeks. Can you tell me what you recommend for helping with that? Thanks so much. Jeffra

Jeffra – Another mom told me about Hollister Skin Barrier. She can order it from her medical supply company. It is something you put between the skin and the tape… hope this helps.
We are still eating leftovers too…but we had our dinner on Saturday. They are all so yummy!
The crock pot recipe sounds good…but we didn’t have turkey because I am allergic.
Ryan’s smile just warms my heart. He is so precious. And he thinks he is a big helper now, holding mama’s tea!
Glad you had fun with your high school friends. You deserve times like that!
Love you,
Momma Linda
