Friday I took the day off. By that I mean I didn’t go to the hospital. Instead, we stayed home and acted like normal people. Not that we’re not normal…. um. Well…okay…moving on.
While wrapping the gift for said friend’s baby, I took the opportunity to teach the girls about gift giving. I said, “Girls, whenever you are giving someone a gift, it is important…” I paused concentrating on getting the price tag off the gift. I was going to finish with …important to think about what the person likes. However, before I could get the words out of my mouth Natalie finished my sentence by saying, “important to get those little stickers off?

Way to go, Natalie – what a brave, big girl! And that bow Ainsley is sportin’ is the best…definitely a diva! As always – Ryan is amazing! So glad you all had a good weekend!!
That is one of the places I sure miss, Fracture Prune! The warm moist goey donuts.
Which did you get? I always got the Sand or the Orangsicle
i LOVE ainsley’s bow!!! 🙂 do her and bailey know each other?? how close in age are they??
Oh, we used to get up early and wait in line outside the first Fractured Prune in Ocean City MD when we were teens… there was always a long line! I loved that place. Would you believe they opened one here in Charlotte about a year ago? I couldn’t believe it! All I can say is YUMMY!
I love that you got to be “normal” it sounds like it was grand! The zoo is a great place to go and be silly and have fun with the kids!
Your girls are precious! Ainsley could pass as Sarah’s, they look so much alike 😉
Is Ryan not sedated anymore? Praying for the upcoming Glenn procedure.
Mara
Ryan is under slight sedation – really just two (or three, i can’t remember now) narcotics that take the edge off. They up his doses if he is agitated, which then knocks him out. But if he is having a good day, he is able to interact with us some. Just not the same as if he were off the vent and not on meds.
Leighann! 🙂 I’m so glad to hear you guys had an awesome weekend! And that you got to do some fun stuff! Ryan looks great! Still praying for the big surgery coming up! Hang in there!
Have a great day! 🙂
Sounds like ya’ll had a great weekend!! I’m sure it was nice to spend some ‘normal’ time with the girls. Still praying for Ryan and the upcoming surgery. Hope you have a great day!

great pictures, thanks for sharing, and yay for being normal.
oh, loved the post about submission. well said!
Glad to read you had some “normal” time with your family. Ainsley is so cute. Yay for Natalie being brave or at least acting brave for the camera. I’m glad Ryan has a friend. lol
love you all. Praying for thurs. surgery.
I wish you lived near by, I would go when you couldn’t be there and spend some cuddle time with Ryan. Love him up.
Who in the world would come up with a name like “Fractured Prune” for a donut shop??? I’t hilarious!!!
Your girls always crack me up with the funny stuff they say. The gift giving story reminds me of a Christmas when my mil was giving a long speech on the meaning of Christmas and said “Just remember, it’s the getting, not the giving”. Everyone was real quiet and I wasn’t going to say a word since I was just an in law. However, when she repeated it again, verbatim, we all had to crack up.
Suny – I got the sand – delish!
