This project has been a long time coming. My sister, Dottie, told me about Pinterest in the Spring of 2011. This is one of the first pins I ever pinned. In fact, I didn’t even have my Pin It widget installed so she pinned it for me. It remains on her boards to this day.
I love everything about this wall. The large pictures. The black and white mixed with color mixed with neutral walls. It’s gorgeous.

I don’t have a space this large in my house to cover, but I do have a large white space over my family room couch. I figured this’d be the perfect spot for a family collage.
I like her flat pictures, but I decided to try out the wrapped canvases everyone is talking about. Many folks are ordering them for exorbitant amounts making it cost prohibitive for me to do such a large grouping. That is until I saw (on Pinterest of course!) someone who mod-podged prints to canvases. BINGO!
I bought my canvases at JoAnn fabrics for 50% off and sent prints to a big box store with inexpensive enlargement services.
Here’s what you’ll need for the project.

that looks so great!
I had this EXACT picture/blog bookmarked from LONG before I was on pinterest! So funny, your pics/canvases look great, love the mix of photos – may copy your hand print… or maybe feet at the beach?
fantastic! how awesome that you finally got to do your originial Pinned Interest! It looks beautiful.
what a beautiful idea! i can’t wait to do this!!!
Wow, that looks great!!!
Can you give us a cost breakdown?
Great work, Leighann!! Those are great shots that you chose! I took a pic for my dad one year for Father’s Day just like the hand one, with the three sisters and our children. I need to do another one this fall, as we will be adding a third child since it was taken! 🙂
This project turned out marvelous Leighann. I really like it! I like how you mixed the black and white with the colored prints.
This looks amazing! I just discovered your blog via your comment on Stylish Patina. Are you in the DC-metro area? I’m in Reston. So glad I found you. 🙂
Super awesome.
Love It! Did you only do the Modge Podge on the back of the pictures, or over the front too – I have used this on other project and used underneath and over the pictures! I love this project and have found the perfect wall for it in my house too! However, I will be using pictures of my own family 🙂
@Soldier Mama – bwahahahaha!
I used mod podge only on the back as a glue. I was afraid to use it on the front even though I’ve seen several people post about doing that.
OKAY – I am so excited – I went to JoAnn Fabrics today, and the Canvas was 50% off for a two pack – and then, I had a 20% off your entire order coupon – It was $23.00 for 6 of them. They came with a free larger one too – I have something else planned for those! I have ordered my prints from my regular place! I can’t wait to do my project – we have an empty rather large wall in my dining room that is going to be perfect!!
