One Month Today!

March 20, 2009/Ryan
The girls and I visited baby Ryan today. It was a morning for me, not sure why other than lack of sleep and feeling behind schedule. The girls were actually pretty good. They colored and ran around the room for the first 20-25 minutes. I let them race back and forth from one side of the room to the other since the nurse was with another patient. I closed the room door and pulled the curtain so no one could see them. 🙂 I then set them up with a movie in the corner chair.
I felt rushed in the visit and so spent the entire time by Ryan’s bedside. I knew we would only be there about 2 hours before we had to leave to get Ainsley down for her nap. So, I purposefully ignored everything else around me while I talked, sang and touched a sleeping Ryan. The girls didn’t seem to care much at all. In fact, when we got home, I crashed for about an hour. First Ainsley found me in my bed and said, “why are you sleeping?” I told her I was tired. She quietly left the room, closing the door on her way out. Next, Natalie came in and handed me her stuffed animal, kissed me on the lips, then quietly left dragging Ainsley (who straggled in with her big sis) out with her. Such sweet kids! I know I am truly blessed.
Here are a few pictures from Ryan’s one-month birthday:

His night nurse had some time on her hands so made him a paper shirt. The poor boy doesn’t wear anything but a diaper, and socks on his hands and feet. Natalie continues to ask why he is naked.
Here is a shot of all three kids. It’s the first one I have. No idea why it’s taken me a month to do this. Silly, silly mommy.
Happy one-month birthday, Ryan!!

Wow, who would have thought he’d make it this far, praise God! He is so so precious! The paper vest is too cute, kudos to the nurse with imagination. All of your children are beautiful, you are blessed!!

Happy 1 month Birthday Ryan. You are our family miracle and we pray for you everyday. Phoey on the drs who said you were a no go at 12 weeks.
Nice shirt you got there. Careful, I’ve heard it’s hard getting stains out of that material.
Leighann, you DO have wonderful girls. You’ve done a great job with them. Please give them big hugs from Aunt Johanna.

Leighann, I am so glad that Ryan is a month old and that he is doing so well. I loved the pictures with his eyes open, and the one with the girls.

You don’t know us, but my husband and I are praying for Ryan’s continued progress and for strength for you and Henry and the rest of your family.

I am so pleased to see Ryan doing so well. Your girls are cute as buttons. You are a wonderful mother to be taking care of everything at the same time. It is definitely hard to have to do that and will drain you physically. We will be praying for you, just as much as we pray for Ryan. If I were closer, I would offer to babysit, but I don’t think Louisiana is close enough, lol.
    Love and prayers,

Your family is so beautiful. Its amazing how the girls have integrated Ryan in their lives in just one month. God is amazing on how he’s working here and I’m speechless each time!

Keep chugging 🙂 We’re still praying!
