People wonder how in the world I get it all done.  To tell you the truth, I don’t. I have meals coming from our church and friends several times a week, I have friends who offer to run errands for me and those I call in a pinch for groceries, others babysit my children on a regular basis with no strings attached, and sisters who come clean my house.  And here is how I get my drug store items….

Alice.com has a wide variety of items. I find their prices are somewhat competitive, especially since it shows up on my doorstep with no shipping charges. Some of my household items are several dollars cheaper while my deodorant is two dollars more. I figure it comes out in the wash.  I also like that the website finds coupons for you and applies them to your order, tracks your monthly spending (and even shows you a pie chart of where you are spending your money), and lets you do advanced planning of when you think you’ll need supplies.
The only catch is you need a minimum of six items to place an order and, of course, you must allot a few days for shipping. When I see I am getting low on an item (i.e., toothpaste), I go into my account and put that item in my shopping cart. It’s like keeping a shopping list. Then, when I can’t wait any longer for an item I place my order (if I’m not up to 6 items yet, I order something I know we’ll absolutely need in the near future).
My only complaint is the quantity of grouped items is small. When I shop at Costco I can get a 12 pack of our bath soap bars. On Alice.com, I have to order them by twos. This makes me a little choosey of what I buy where and when based on convenience. But overall, this service makes my life easier.
What service or product do you use to help you get it all done?

Amen to Maggie, I always take my Mom’s motto, “It will be there tomorrow”, lol.

I’m with Maggie too – I don’t get it all done either! And I’ll have to check out alice.com, thanks for mentioning it! The only “trick” I do for groceries is to stock up when things are on sale, so I always can pull something together for dinner in a pinch. We could probably go two weeks or so with only buying fresh milk and fruit. Which means that if I don’t make it to the store, we still have plenty to eat 🙂

I need an Alice in a pinch. Today, I had one left “of the things you need once a month”, and with three kids in tow had to run into CVS to get these “things”, but to make my time worthwhile I end up spending 30 dollars on chocolate, cards I probably will never send, more tissues for the runny noses.. what else did I buy??? Hmm.
Anyway wishing there were drive in Alice’s – when I just need that one gallon of milk, or creamer for my coffee, or more tissues for all those runny noses.
    phew.

I have been considering Alice since I learned of it last week. Thanks for the review.

I have been using Amazon’s Subscribe & Save for the last two years for diapers and wipes. I love it because I use a brand of diapers that is fairly pricey and only available at a few stores. With subscribe and save not only is it delivered to my door with free shipping, but I get a 15% discount for using the service. Buying by the case (which is only 4 packs of diapers or 12 packs of wipes) and getting the discount makes the diapers in line with store brands.
