We packed up the kids on Friday afternoon and headed down to my mom’s house. Not all of us could make it for Easter so we decided to have a big family shin-dig this weekend when my sister Amy and her family were up from Florida. The only sibling who wouldn’t be there is my sister Dottie who lives in Chicago.
I got the most amazing call on Thursday night. “What time are you guys leaving tomorrow?” she asked. “Are you driving here?” I squealed. Um, yeah. She got in her car early Friday morning, drove the 7.5 hours to Pittsburgh in time to leave with us around dinner time. Whut? Whut? It was awesome!
The last time we were all together was Thanksgiving. I was so excited to wake up to a house FULL of family on Saturday morning (we arrived at midnight so only saw my mom).
My mom has a great backyard for kids. They played on the merri-go-round….
In a tent made with a large cardboard box hung over the clothesline and covered with sheets….
In the hose….
On the slip n slide.
Corn Hole…
The rocking horse.
with each other
and with the babies.
For some reason – it looks like Autumn was the only one to hold the babies, but I promise, they were passed around.
The adults got in on the Corn Hole action too. There were some close games… (my brother made these corn hole boards, BTW. He’s got some mad carpentry skillz)
We also just hung out..
This is my immediate family. You’d think we are big enough, yet we’re missing three brother-in-laws, my step-brother Sean’s wife, and my step-sister Tracey’s family. I think I counted 29 people in the picture with 2 on the way! I love being from a big family. We had a great day together. I’m already counting down the days until Thanksgiving.
