Ryan is still flying high with wonderful numbers – Po2s in the 30s. CO2s a little all over the place, but acceptable. I think last time I updated on Ryan’s high flow numbers they were at 12. He is on 11 liters now. Ryan’s CO2s were in the 70s on Friday night so the team bumped him up to 16 liters/hour (he went back up to 15 on Thursday due to some desatting). It’s a little game of two steps forward one step back. Or more to the point, one liter down, five liters up. But we’ll eventually get there. He’s been extubated since Tuesday and I’m a little surprised he is doing so well. I don’t know why I’m so optimistic about everything else and so pessimistic about him breathing on his own. I am itching to see him today. I bought him some new clothes and can’t wait to see what he looks like in them. Yay!
