40-day Easter Journey – Day 17

Slide07Jesus as Shepherd

John 10: 27-28 My sheep hear My voice and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of my hand.

A shepherd is someone who cares for sheep. He guides, provides, and protects. His job is to lead the sheep to good grass where they can get enough to eat, take them to fresh water to get enough to drink, and protect them from wild animals that want to kill and eat them. Jesus is our shepherd. He guides us with his word, provides for all our needs, and protects us from the devil (1 Peter 5:8).  Sheep know their shepherd’s voice because they spend so much time with him. The more time you spend getting to know God through the Bible and prayer, the more you will be able to recognize His voice in your life.

Activity: Play a version of Marco Polo where the “blind” person has to catch people in the family in a certain order. They will only know them by their voice.
