2010 or Bust!

January 1, 2010/Family
For the past 3 years, we have spent New Year’s at our good friends’, the Tilleys. We met them pre-kids and now we are outnumbered.  Here are the four oldest: Camryn, Ainsely, Carston, and Natalie. Austin, their infant, is already in bed. Ryan, our infant, is in the hospital.

Each year we whip out the fondue pot and start dipping.

Jason and Henry
We put the children down around 8 p.m. – Ainsley was the last to fall asleep around 11:15 p.m. The others did not fall asleep much before then. We parents figured it is part of the fun. Here they are one of the many times we checked on them.
Meanwhile downstairs….

The Tilleys banned t.v. from their house the first year they married as an experiment and never looked back so we watch the ball drop every year on the computer.

Happy New Year, sweetie. I can’t say enough how when Henry and I are right, everything else can be falling apart around me…. if we aren’t right, nothing else matters.
And some new tradition of doing 10 pushups at midnight… not sure why this came about, but we did it. And took pictures for the blog.
(Heidi, Jason, and brother Dave)
10 pushups at midnight energized us and we continued playing games.
Last year we ended up staying the night so this year we packed an overnight bag. The adults headed to bed around 3 a.m. The kids were up at 7 a.m. (Natalie crawled into bed with us at 5). Mr. Tilley made us breakfast – he used to be a chef and we love when he cooks for us.

And as promised… I visited Ryan yesterday. He had a fever on Wednesday and was lethargic and vomited while I was there on Thursday. They tell me he was fine after I left. I noticed another tooth coming in – that makes four! Other than that, he is progressing on his diuretic switch and the resident is estimating us bringing Ryan home in the next week or two. We’ll see. Until then, here is a little eye candy.

I am so thrilled – every time I read your blog! My daughter Lauren and I look forward to every night, when we log in and see pictures, esp of Natalie and Ainsley! She loves those girls! We saw “their daddy” at the Heritage Alumni game, and Lauren thought he was more important than the president! 🙂 Love you guys! Happy New Year!!

Leighann I am so excited that Ryan may be going home soon. I have been praying and praying that his would happen soon God is so good!!!

I am so glad that you and Henry and the kids got to party with your friends. It is so much fun to do those kinds of things.

Do you think Ryan had a fever from teething? My kids always did that…and my grandkids too.

I hope he is feeling better soon.

Hope you enjoyed this first day of the New Year. A fresh new beginning for all of us,

    Linda @ Truthful Tidbits

Leighann, even sick Ryan’s coloring looks FANTASTIC!!! I can tell by that picture he’s feeling off (and I’m not even his mama) but even still he looks so much healthier than he has. He looks a little less swollen and like I said his coloring looks really good to me. Yeah for THE great physician!!! I can’t wait until you have your snuggle man home where he belongs!

Linda – Ryan probably does get fevers when he is teething and from weaning on narcotics, but this fever was 102 something and that is too high for either of those. But that is a good thought and a question I typically ask is how high a fever when we talk in terms of fevers for that very reason.

Leighann – I really enjoyed your pictures. So sorry to hear that Ryan had a temp. Hope all is fine now. You and your family are constantly in our thoughts and prayers – Love you, Aunt Karen

Becky -We did get your card. Thank you so much. Made me cry!!

You are welcome to come meet baby Ryan when he comes home – but it will have to wait until after flu season. I have been given strict instructions by his cardiologist not to have a big one-year party since they (doctors I guess!) are expecting a third wave of H1N1 in early March. We’ll have to think of something fun for the spring/summer.
