Ryan is still in the hospital although has now moved to the HKU. We are trying to figure out why he continues to take shallow breaths necessitating a small amount of oxygen supplementation. It could be that he is still in pain and therefore avoiding deep breathes.  Or, it could be the tissue expanders which were placed in his chest are just enough pressure to cause breathing issues. If this is the case, he will need to have oxygen supplementation until the skin spacers are removed (hopefully on Aug. 27 during the Glenn).

Otherwise, he is resting comfortably.
Monday and Tuesday the girls and I stayed home. They were without me for five days and have been fussy and ‘off’ so I figured staying around the house would help them get back into a routine. It was weird being here without Ryan. Both days I would be in the middle of something and think, “Oh, I need to go check on Ryan” or yesterday as we headed outside I thought, “I better leave the door open so I can hear Ryan.” I had to stop and remind myself he isn’t here.
The girls and I plan to visit the hospital today. Hopefully I will get some sense of how we will move forward with Ryan’s care.
