They are what they think…

January 9, 2014/Natalie

In the early fall I started praying about what I could do to help instill more confidence and less anxiety in Natalie. I don’t know where the idea came from really – I may have seen it somewhere or read it – but I thought to make some canvases with sayings/verses for her room that could serve as constant reminders.

Then in Circle Maker by Mark Batterson, he talks about verses that he and his wife hung on his daughter’s walls and how his daughter later said how much they came back to her during difficult times. I knew I was on the right path.

I took a few weeks to come up with what verses would most impact her right now and over break took the time to get them onto canvas and, at last, onto her wall.

Now to work on some for Ainsley!

I LOVE this idea!!! Maddie can seem so confident at times, but as soon as she faces something new, someWHERE new, or someONE new, she freaks out. I love the “you are braver than you believe, etc.” for her. I’m going to pray over some verses that will speak to Maddie too! Thanks for the inspiration!

What a great idea! I remember our teacher in Grade 8, hung a verse in the girls bathroom. “Pride is deceitful and beauty is vain but a women (or girl) who fears the Lord, is to be praised. ” It works! I think on that verse still now some 30plus years later.

Love, love, love. My 13 year old son is a worrier. So much he has trouble sleeping. I have to quote versus to him often! Wish this idea would work for his room! 🙂

These are wonderful! Wish I’d had something like this when I was a child. My anxiety level was often through the roof (still is sometimes). We all need good reminders of His care.

My parents put the serenity prayer on my wall, and got me 4 copies of Who Moved My Cheese? The serenity prayer poster is still one of my “go to” prayers in tough moments. Beautifully done!

Good job! I love this! You are a terrific momma! I think these canvasses will help her think…and focus on things that are true, honest, just, pure, and lovely…virtuous and praiseworthy!

    Love, Linda
