Cath Update

May 20, 2010/Ryan

Ryan is back in his room and recovering from a successful cath. He ended up heading back to the lab around 1:30 and after a harrowing hour and a half, Dr. K finally got access through Ryan’s veins. Dr. K measured the pressures in Ryan’s chambers, ballooned a few spots on the pulmonary arteries, and coiled off two new collateral vessels.

The good news is he doesn’t need to see Ryan for a year. A year!! That’s the longest we’ve ever gone without a procedure. Um, being that in 15 months Ryan has come through 5 surgeries and 6 heart caths, a year in between procedures is a lifetime.

The rumor mill is also a buzz that we might be discharged tomorrow. Really? Just two nights? That would rock. We’ll see . Ryan’s cardiologist plans to stop by tomorrow and then we might just pack up and leave. Yeah!
