Thanksgiving 2011

December 7, 2011/Family

I’m sorry to still be talking about Thanksgiving, but with last week’s computer snafu I still need to catch up.

This is the first year we had to make a T to fit everyone at the tables…. there were five guests who didn’t end up making it so I think we had 29 people. And it will only grow from here. No announcements this year, although we did joke with one another, but really we’re just getting started. John and Dottie aren’t even married yet…. oh the possibilities!

Our kids’ table is too small for all the grandkids so those who wanted to sat at the adult table. Somehow everyone got to sit where they wanted.

It was such a nice day we took a walk after dinner.

After taking a pic of the kids in the wagon I gave Ainsley my camera. Here’s what she documented.

And of course, there was Angry Birds with Uncle Dean.

And riding horsey on Grandma’s knee.

The ‘big’ kids: Natalie, Adyn, Ainsley, and Kael, told us they were playing in the forest. The forest is one huge pine tree in my mom’s backyard that had the branches cleared out from under it creating a tent effect. Funny thing is, there are lots of pine trees and groups of pine trees back there, but the kids chose the one that stands alone to play under. Cute…. reminded me of when my cousins, sisters, and I used to play in the (real) forest beside my grandparents house.

Oh, how I loved that forest! I still tell Jim stories about when we would makes forts in the woods and play in the cemetary and find snakes under the rocks. I was so excited to show him all these places last year when we got to go up for Thanksgiving. Those are memories I will cherish forever!

I love seeing pics of all you guys! Our family isn’t quite as big as yours, but we are starting to outgrow our tables…:)
