This week’s Seven Quick Takes. To join the fun, click here.

For those keeping track, I finally broke down and did some online shopping this week. I know, I’m such an over-achiever. I also sent Henry out last weekend to shop for the girls… he likes shopping for them anyway so it was a good thing for me to delegate. I’m getting there little by little. Just a few more things to get and wrap and we’ll be ready for next week.

Ten months is the longest either of the girls nursed. I either dried up and they became disinterested or they became disinterested and then I dried up. Either way, tomorrow marks 10 months of pumping and I’m starting to be done with it mentally. My goal is two more months.

Real Simple Magazine has a section where they take every day products and use them for an ‘ah-ha’ use. This week I used Ryan’s adhesive remover (for his skin tape) to remove band-aid goo from a doll’s arms and a sticker from the bathroom floor. How ’bout them apples?

Has anyone ever heard of the “Big-Headed Person’s” measurement chart?  I have a friend who will remain unnamed (Abi) whose children’s heads are so big the doctors recommended MRIs to see if they had something wrong with them. With the first, she learned about the Big-Headed chart so by the second, she said to the pediatrician “You have to use the Big-Headed chart. Our family has big heads.”  Apparently she and her husband have rather large craniums so their children come by it honest. My girls have peanut heads, but Ryan, well he’s a different story. How many of you have kids with large heads?

Emily posted about how much she hates Charmin, something about watching bears wipe themselves on t.v.  I usually get the less expensive box-store brand. However, I haven’t had time to go to our local box-store and Charmin was on sale at the grocery store. I bought it out of necessity. And boy are those commercials right – you really can use about 1/3 the number of sheets as the leading store brand. It also absorbs all the water in the potty so be careful.

Some of you may wonder what I do in my spare time…. here is a picture. Can you guess what it is?

This is the child who refused to come out of the closet to do the class performance for the moms on the last day of ballet. I had to go get her and set her on my lap while we watched all the other girls, including Natalie who was the helper, perform the dance. Her preschool Christmas program was Wednesday night. I prepped her for a week saying things like, “You know, a lot of kids get scared on stage when they see all the people in the seats. It’s okay if you get scared. Just find Mommy’s face and look at it. If you can’t find me, then look right at your teacher.”  Or, “All the people you see tonight in the seats are just other mommies and daddies. They are there to see their child perform so they’re probably not even looking at you. Just look right at me and sing.”  And as I dropped her at her class, “Sing to me, baby, k?”
I was sure she would be the cryer and come running off the stage in hysterics. She proved me wrong. Here are some samples of her work.

My kids had huge heads! They wore xxl hats as infants then quickly grew into adult hats. They are now teens and their heads look normal.
I never heard of the big head chart, but I’m sure our family could have used it!

No big heads in our family…just big peepers. My Mom told me that when I was 6 weeks old, I opened my eyes so big and showed all the white all the way around that the doctor thought I had water on the brain. Had a scan of my brain and as it turned out, I just have BIG eyes!!

Cute video of Ainsley…I love her tossing her hair in the first video!

Trying to figure out what you are making….it looks like shredded moz. cheese. So…my guess is either making a pizza or using the moz. cheese as a prop to look like snow.

I have kids with big heads as well the doctor was concerned, because their suture closed so early. My daughter wore a 2T/3T hat in her 9 month pics to give u an example. My husband still has a big head, but I have grown into mine, or perhaps it just stopped growing early, I can now wear XL kids hats. Who knows, but it all worked out.

My 2 girls have big heads. My 1st was always in the 90% area. My 2nd, now 7 mos old, measured >97% (as high as the normal chart goes) and was sent for an ultrasound, which turned out fine. So next appt I’ll try and remember the “big head chart”! I loved the videos of Aisley – she did great! My 5 year old just had hers at school too. She was holding hands and hugging the boy next to her! For your picture, to me it looked like a petri plate of fungus! (I’m a scientist!) Then clicking on it to look closer, it looked like cheese – alot of cheese!

Four of my kids had big head, even on the sonograms. Abigail has a normal size head. I always thought the reason my kids were bald as babies is cuz thier heads were too big, they grew out of their hair. Abby had hair cuz she had a normal size head.
I like toilet paper that is a little thicker than store generics cuz I still hear that small voice from the restroom “mommy, come wipe me”

Looks like you try new recipes in your free time. Don’t know, just a guess.
Ainsley is so c.u.t.e!!!! Couldn’t understand a thing she said and couldn’t really read her lips. But I was laughing the whole time.
    love ya.
