Ryan had a good weekend. He was noticeably less agitated today than the previous two days. His chest tube came out on Saturday, which is great. Henry said he woke up for about 20 minutes today and was happy.

The doctors warned us the Glenn is hard for the kids to adjust to. The veins in the top of the body swell as they adjust to different blood pressure giving the kids headaches and swelling. This is expected to last for about a month.
We hope to hear soon when Ryan will have surgery for his anatomical repair. The rumor is it will happen this week. We’ll keep you in the loop.

Meanwhile, here is a picture of the puppy a tech at the hospital gave to Ryan. She comes to visit him when she can and will sit and talk to him and read books to him. He LOVES her!  And I am grateful there is someone to fill the gaps when I am unable to be there for hours on end. She picked the puppy because his heart is also outside his body.

So glad he’s continuing to recover well and will pray that his other surgery can happen this week.

And thank the Lord that his angels are everywhere and hold even “lowly” job like med. tech’s at hospitals! Those of us with ANY hosp. experience at all know that they are not so lowly, especially to God. Think Shepherd boy, fishermen, carpenter….

I love the puppy with the heart on the outside, how sweet of the tech to find him for Ryan.

Wow, I am still amazed at how God has undertaken with this surgery in Ryan’s behalf, even though I know I shouldn’t be. We asked and He gave in His abundance and I know He will continue to give. So happy to hear of the support system you have around you and Ryan. Our prayers are continuing to the throne on your behalf.
He is such a beautiful little boy!!

Gods blessings on you and your family. I came across your blog from mckmama, as I’ve been reading hers for a while now praying for her and encouraging others to pray for her family as well.
You’re truly an inspirational mother and an amazing writer. You also seemingly have a great deal of faith and strength. Your family is beautiful and blessed to have eachother.
I’m from a small town in wisconsin, have 3 small children 6, 2 and 8 months. my oldest was a NICU baby for 2 weeks and his struggle seems NOTHING compared to anything you all have gone through though reading your blog makes me think about those days 6 years ago, how 2 weeks was agonizing, I can’t imagine how you’ve kept up like you have.
