Thanksgiving’s two weeks from today. It kind of snuck up on me. The day after Halloween I felt immense relief from tension I didn’t know I was holding. I guess the busyness of planning Natalie’s birthday party, Ainsley’s class Halloween party, Henry’s birthday, and making Halloween costumes was a lot of pressure for one weekend. Within three days all the different “to do” lists left my mind and with it came pure excitement for the season ahead. But instead of transitioning to turkeys and pumpkin pie, I can’t get my mind off Christmas. It’s the first year in at least three that I’m ready for Christmas… mentally and emotionally. I keep reminding myself we haven’t had Thanksgiving yet. So I’m going to try and take the next two weeks to settle down and count my blessings (although I try to advocate being grateful year-round.)
