No baby yet, folks! Just a house full of guests. I spent last week cleaning and decluttering in preparation for nearly 30 people staying at our house throughout this weekend. Not all at once of course. We are through the first round – Henry’s family was here Wednesday and Thursday and now my family has descended upon the homestead.
I may have also spent a little time last week baking and freezing bread, muffins and cookies. Our dietary needs have changed in the last 2 years to include multiple allergies so my menu planning wasn’t the same old, same old. Between the two families we are cooking for diabetic, paleo, gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, coconut-free, and ginger-free restrictions. I made 5 paleo loaves of banana/apple bread last week and froze them, then whipped up some vegan oatmeal cookies only to find out one of my sisters is sensitive to oats now too! BUT the cookies work for everyone else on the list.
My sisters also managed to make a gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free birthday cake for another sister.
Whew! Just typing this all out makes us sounds crazy and now you know why I’ve been silent the last week.
Baby girl is still cooped up inside the womb…. swimming around and doing gymnastics like nobody’s business. No action yet. Some braxton hicks here and there, but nothing exciting. My due date is Dec. 9 so we’re coming up on it quickly. I’ll definitely let everyone know when she arrives.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families!

I was wondering if baby girl made her arrival yet! Praying for an easy and non-eventful delivery. (I delivered our daughter at West Penn Hospital in Bloomfield 32 years ago…they treated new moms and dads to a candlelight surf and turf dinner before mom and baby were released to go home. The hospital actually kept me an extra day so I could take advantage of this special treat! I’m thinking this practice has probably been discontinued, lol!)

Wow! That’s just a week away! (Didn’t mean to stress you out there, if I did…) Wishing you a quick and peaceful delivery!! I’m sure I’ll hear through the family chain. Prayers for you! <3
Hi Leighann…Good to see your post! I will be looking forward to meeting the new little baby girl!!! I hope you will have an easy delivery!
I’ll bet the girls and Ryan are all anxious to meet their baby sister too. It sounds like you have been very ambitious with all of your baking…and also having so many house-guests. Glad you were able to do it all…but don’t get too tired out…you will need your strength to bring that little one out into the world!!! (smile)
Christmas is coming fast…and you will have a sweet little baby doll to play with this year!
Love you lots!
