It makes me think of cholera

It isn’t very often you know you’re going to get sick. I think this is a first for me. But when I saw my husband hanging over the toilet puking his guts out in the wee hours of Monday morning I knew I’d get it.

It could be because he used my toothbrush Saturday night before our date (one of my biggest pet peeves!). Or because we sleep in the same bed. And do other things married people do.

Either way, if I’m right, I’ll be throwing up on Tuesday night. I’ll be so weak on Weds morning, I’ll only have the energy to push the publish button on this post and call for some gatorade.

The thought of being laid up for 2 days (if watching my husband is a good indicator) lit a fire under my rear. On Monday I meant to make a dinner that takes an hour to bake but lost track of time. So instead I made a chicken dish that takes 25 minutes to bake and got inspired to throw some meals together while it was cooking. It helped that my children were outside playing in the 56 degree weather!

While my maple chili chicken was cooking I put together Ginger Sweet Potato Chicken and the chicken part for Mexican Chicken Stuffed Peppers from chicken breasts I bought that day at the grocery store. It actually took me 35 minutes to throw them together, but I figured it was worth finishing up while the roasted asparagus got cold on the stovetop so I could reap the benefit later. (And who wants to pound out chicken breasts for the freezer without taking the extra time to throw in a few spices? Not me!)

I can now rest assured that while my body is ridding itself of every last morsel of food I’ve eaten in the last 2 weeks my family will be living high on the hog chicken.

p.s. I didn’t get sick yet!

At least if you get sick you will be ahead of the game with your prep work done for your meals! 🙂 Such a smart gal!!! I DO HOPE that you won’t get sick though! And I also hope the rest of the crew won’t get it either. Love, Linda
