We had a big weekend, full of family and fun! After church on Sunday we headed out to the UPitt women’s basketball game. Every year one of the sororities puts together a Girl Scout day with balloon artists, (temporary) tattoo artists, face painting, crafts, and poster making. They show clips from the team members and coaches who were Girl Scouts and what their favorite memories are. We went last year and the girls loved it so we went again this year.
We had lunch at Outback – they have a Gluten Free menu that tells you everything you can order off their main menu (no special items like gf pasta, but still very handy).
We had a fun time cheering on the Pitt Panthers. Natalie sat with Henry during the first half and me during the second half.
Ryan got in on the action of waving a poster and chanting, “Lets go Pitt!”
After the game we had special visitors arrive, Jocelyn, Marmi, Henry’s sister Sarah, his Aunt Lillie, and his cousin Carrie. Sadly, I wasn’t on the ball and didn’t get a group picture. Doh!
Lillie and Carrie haven’t been to Pittsburgh before so we took them to as many places as we could fit in. First stop was some of the best Thai in town at Nicky’s Thai, who incidentally has a gluten-free Pad Thai (they don’t use soy sauce!). Then a brief driving tour on our way to The Milkshake Factory on the South Side.
We ended the evening on top of Mt. Washington for a stunning night time view of the city along with a view of Henry’s office building. Then home to play and rest for a big day on Monday.
